The course of therapy can vary significantly based on your unique situation and goals. Some clients feel they have made good progress in just a few months, while others may find it beneficial to work together longer-term. We'll discuss expectations upfront and reevaluate the optimal length of care as we go.

Dr. Hennessy works exclusively with adults. Our focus is on creating a reflective, supportive space for adults navigating growth, change, and emotional wellbeing.

As a solo mental health practitioner, Dr. Hennessy wants to ensure she can provide each client with the highest level of care, attention and support they deserve on their healing journey. To that end, there are certain challenges that fall outside the areas Dr. Hennessy has specialized in through her training and experience.
If you are currently experiencing acute struggles with active suicidal thoughts or behaviors, engaging in self-harm, dealing with significant substance abuse issues, or battling a severe eating disorder, our outpatient private practice setting is likely not the ideal fit for your needs at this moment.
This is not in any way a judgment on the depth or validity of what you are going through. We have tremendous empathy for the pain and difficulties you may be facing. However, these mental health concerns require a more intensive, wrapped-around level of care and resources that Dr. Hennessy cannot provide working in a solo capacity.
Dr. Hennessy’s role and area of specialty is supporting individuals working through more moderate depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues and other stressors - helping you build lives of greater vitality, meaning and connection. She aims to be a warm, compassionate guide in that process.
If your situation feels unmanageably crisis-oriented or requires a higher level of care right now, our practice will not be the best place for you to start your healing process. Please know this is simply about ensuring you get the most appropriate support and services to keep you safe based on your current needs.
We have immense respect for anyone taking the courageous step to prioritize their mental health and well-being. Our aim is to ensure you are set up with care that gives you the best possible chance of moving forward in a safe, sustainable way. We sincerely hope you find the right path and team to support your journey.
